For decades before the concept was formalized, the techniques of manure and compost were well understood by New England's farmers. Insecticides and herbicides were unknown or too expensive for regular farmers. Our ancestors had to develop natural ways to farm, and they knew their land and all it's peculiarities like the back of their hands. This knowledge about the stewardship of our farmland has been passed down from generation to generation, and our understanding does not end there; we continue to seek the best information available in order to continue to strengthen our farm's health and to be able to provide the highest quality produce and information to our customers.
